On Sept. 9, Carpinteria Valley Water District (CVWD) awarded Pacific Coast Well Drilling, Inc. the contract for construction of two groundwater injection wells and two sets of three monitoring wells for the Carpinteria Advanced Purification Project (CAPP) based on their bid of $6,507,950.

The CAPP injection wells will help refill local groundwater supplies with purified water, creating a locally controlled and drought-resistant source of drinking water for the community. The injection wells are strategically positioned for groundwater storage and supply to CVWD groundwater extraction wells. 

The new injection wells are planned for construction at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Linden Avenue and the end of Meadow View Lane. Construction is expected to begin in December 2026 at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church site and in February 2027 on Meadow View Lane.  

“This milestone reflects years of careful planning and collaboration to build a more resilient water future for our community,” Kelley Dyer, CVWD General Manager, said. “Pacific Coast Well Drilling, Inc. was determined to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, and has the experience needed to complete this project safely.”
